If you remember the pain I had coming to terms with
TOPS & BOTTOMS?
The pain continues with rope.
On the “top” side, it’s pretty simple; most are okay with “rigger” or “top.” However, on the recipient side, it gets a little more complicated.
Part of the issue goes along with the different interpretation for top & bottom on the BDSM side of things vs the LGBTQ side of things.
Since “bottom” is often referred to as a sub, many people don’t want to be called a bottom, and “bunny” also doesn’t fit many people’s persona. Thus, people often request other terms. Two common terms are fliers and rope receivers.
Obviously, if you don’t suspend, “flyer” may not fit, but then, are you mentally flying high in sub-space with groundwork? Oh wait, did I just say “sub”
OMG, so confusing.
Tell me what you want to be called, and we’ll go from there.
P.S. Some might still refer to their rope top as a dom or master, maybe saying “Sir?” This, too, is acceptable. After all, that is referring to their dynamic, and then saying their physical role “Ties Me.”
Thus, in addition to rigger/top, and bottom et al., we have Tie’er and Tie-ee, as well as persons tying or getting tied.
